You'll be experienced in C# and will have been involved in the creation of a number of commercial sites using ASP.Net 1 or 2; you'll have used custom user controls and may have made some of your own. The data store for the sites would have been MS-SQL server which you are extremely comfortable with though you'll be aware that there are alternatives and that they may have advantages.
XML and HTML are your second language; you are very comfortable creating standards compliant mark-up and understand and can correct for issues with browser incompatibilities. You will have strong (java)scripting skills be able to program "Ajax"-enabled sites from scratch, though you might prefer to use an existing framework. You'll be comfortable working with XML and will have used XSL to some extent.
Before C#/Asp.net you may have used PHP or classic ASP - even with your lack of familiarity with these languages you're confident they wouldn't be a problem. You may have used C/C++ or Java in the past and understand some of the low-level fundamentals of coding and computing in general.
You are actively interested in new technologies and may have read about Avalon/WinFX or their non-Microsoft equivalents. You enjoy problem solving and have a strong desire to create the best possible solution to a problem or strive to improve what is already there (although you'll know well that time constraints will often mean a compromise on those principles).
Must:
Very good knowledge of C#
Expert HTML/CSS/Javascript and knowledge of related technologies/standards (W3C specifications/Accessability guidelines etc) Experience and understanding of cross-browser issues Some experience of XML/XSLT transforms Strong understanding of OO fundamentals Working experience of Asp.net 1/2 (C#) Good knowledge of MS-SQL
Minimum 2 years commercial web development experience.
Advantage:
